Recast is perfect for on the go. This is why we have added recast to CarPlay. Now, you can easily listen to your recasts while driving. Just open CarPlay, tab the recast icon, and start listening.

We have enabled all lists for CarPlay. You can listen to your own queue, to the trending and the new and noteworthy section, and of course to the recasts that are tailored personally to you, in the "for you" list.

Running around the house doing chores while listening to recasts? Or running outside? Or just hanging out? No problem.

With recast on your apple watch with WatchOS10, you can listen to all your recasts and many more wherever you are and whatever you do. No need to bring your phone, just click the recast icon on your watch and find what you want to listen to. Your own recast? Trending recasts? Tailored to you recast? They are all there for you to enjoy!

💻 Web App

Recast started as an iOS app. Mainly because we have awesome iOS engineers on our team. But the more users we got, the more people asked for recast to be available on other devices. So first steps first, we build an awesome, full featured web app.

🤹 Interactive Widgets

Yes, we know, it is not always easy to remember to listen to recasts. Too much stuff is happening all around you. But, we've got a solution. Just add the recast widget to your home screen, and we will keep you updated on the newest recasts, have awesome suggestions for you, or you can choose our most fun widget and have Castmi, our meerkat delight your day.

The interactive widgets are available with iOS 17, and what makes them interactive is that you can press play on them and start listening to your next recast.

To set up the recast widget, just long press on your home screen till everything wiggles. Tab the plus button on the top left and navigate to the recast icon.

Here you will see all the different widget options and can select what suits your best.

Need more widgets? No problem. Just send us a note and let us know what you want to see. And with some magic, our engineers will build it and add it to the next update.

🪢 Embedding Recasts

This one has been one of the most requested features from the start. Being able to add a recast of your own blogpost to your own website.

Sure, there always were workarounds, but now we are making it super easy for everyone to get a beautifully designed and powerful embedded recast player directly from recast.

All you have to do is recast the blogpost, open the app on iOS or the web, click the share button and select "embed".

You will be able to copy the code of the player for this recast and just paste it into your codebase. And that's it.

The recast for your blogpost is responsive and works with all different screen sizes and devices so your readers (and now listeners) can get the most out of your amazing content, no matter where they listen from.

We are super excited to see what you will do with this recast player. And we would love to see (and hear) it too. 🔥 iPad Support

Recast has been available for the iPad since the start. But now, it got a big design update and is now optimized for use on all iPad sizes.

And submit your own articles easily in the app or with the safari share sheet. Just navigate to an article in your safari browser and click the share button. You will find the recast icon in the app row. Just click it and we will add some magic and send the recast your way.

✨ Custom App Icons

One of my personal favourites and a feature I have been hoping for for a long time. Custom app icons. Now you can choose between the first set of amazingly cute app icons for your recast app. First up is a set of meerkats, our recast hosts. But soon there will be many more.

🎁 Recast Affiliate & Share Options

The recast affiliate program is a way for us to give back to people that love recast and share it with their audience. Some amazing people are already creating content about recast and now, they can be easily compensated for it.

🐞 Some more improvements and bug fixes

Our amazing engineers are always working on making the recast experience better. The full list of bugs and improvements would be a bit too long, but here are some highlights:

• Fixed the streaming issue with offline playback: The download for offline playback always worked, but the playback did not. Now this is fixed and you can enjoy your recast while offline.
• Improved swiping on trending recasts: It has been a bit strange, but now, swiping on the horizontal row of trending recasts has become much smoother.
• Much improved performance: This is a constant one for us, improving the performance. Everything is now running faster and more stable.
